Provides crisis assistance with food, clothing, utilities, and addresses substandard housing, adult literacy, at-risk youth and life management skills.
Better Health of Cumberland County is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization established in 1958 to serve the unmet health needs of low-income citizens of Cumberland County. Services include financial aid for prescriptions, emergency dental extractions, and medical supplies, diabetic education and management services, and a loan closet of medical equipment. All services are at no cost upon qualification. Better Health's revenues are generated solely from grants and donations.

College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) is the one place to go for help with college financing.
CFNC offers low-interest education loans for students and parents who need help now and a special
tax-advantaged savings program. The College Vision Fund for those with more time to save. CFNC
can also provide FREE scholarships and grants, data on college costs, help in selecting applying to
college, and the assistance of a college financing specialist.
