About me William Powell MS Ed, LPC, NCC, LMHC
William Powell is pleased to join Peace of Mind, Inc. He received his Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. He has been an ordained minister of the Free Methodist Church for 21 years. He has also served as chaplain at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville, NY and also St. James Mercy Medical Center, Hornell, NY.
William received a Master of Science in Education with a specialty in counseling degree at Alfred University and Molly VanDuser was his classmate there. They worked together at Family Service Society, Bath, NY and Noyes Mental Health Clinic, Dansville, NY as co-facilitators of the Batterer’s Education Program. William has extensive counseling experience working with people in recovery from drugs and alcohol, adult children of alcoholic and blended families. He also has experience counseling people with gender orientation issues.
As the coordinator of the batterer’s program, William was active in the local domestic violence consortium, the Domestic Abuse Review Team.
William will be serving as a general counselor, dealing with people who have a need for counseling, especially in areas of recovery, adjustment, anxiety, blended families, trauma and grief. |
