About me
MOLLY L. VANDUSER, M.S. Ed., LPC, NCC
Molly VanDuser graduated with a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Alfred University in 1999, where she attended classes with William Powell. She worked with William at Family Service Society, Bath, NY and Noyes Mental Health Clinic, Dansville, NY as co-facilitators of the Batterer’s Education Program. She also carried a full time caseload of childhood sexual abuse victims, and worked in private practice at Alfred Counseling Associates, where her specialization was trauma treatment and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).
In 2004 Molly relocated to the Fayetteville, NC area where she briefly worked as a Victim Advocate at Fort Bragg, and then accepted a graduate counseling program adjunct faculty position with Webster University at Pope Air Force Base. She remains there today and accepts graduate practicum/intern students from local universities, who are interested in learning about trauma treatment.
In 2005 Molly contracted with KidsPeace in Hope Mills as an outpatient family therapist and worked with Sonya Holland and Leigh Cascio, who were also her Webster University practicum students. She also worked with Holly Hills Hospital and Sandhills Mental Health Center as an on-call mobile crisis counselor. Molly contracted for six months with Magellan EAP/FOH one day per week at USDA in Raleigh. She also returned to private practice at Dunn Psychological Associates, P.A., where her specialties were trauma treatment and family counseling.
In August of 2007 Molly formed the company, Peace of Mind, Inc., which is becoming quickly known in the local area as being one of the first specialized trauma treatment and training centers utilizing evidence-based or “best” practices. She is excited to have been joined by her old colleagues, William Powell, Sonya Holland, and Leigh Cascio, and they truly complete the team.
Populations currently served are: military personnel and their families; victims of abuse; foster families. General counseling is also offered for various issues such as adjustment concerns; depression and anxiety; grief and loss; PTSD; OCD; as well as family therapy, including blended families.
